[Mk2] [Generic] Sideskirts - DIY fitting?

Post by JohnnyC »

More specifically, Rogue's Type 'G' sideskirts.

I'm just in the 'considering' stage at the moment so haven't asked Rogue directly, just wanted the man on the street opinion - can they be fitted DIY ?

Easy job? Do they use existing holes in the wheel arch or not?

Obviously they'd need to be painted, but my car is due a trip to the bodyshop due to a couple of minor scratches anyway - I'd just prefer not to have to pay the bodyshop to remove the old vents and fit the new skirts as it's a bit labour intense removing/refitting the interior.

I've seen someones Bomex skirts recently, and they had mounting holes across the main part of the skirt - where do the bolts that go in there go?

TIA
DARRYN

Can't be specific for the Rogue type G skirts, but in general it's an easy diy job. The holes along the sill are for you to drill into the sill and fit pop rivets .
You will probably have to drill a hole in the rear wheel arch for a rivet or self tapper . Best bet is to ask Rogue how they are fitted, I'm sure they know the best methods.
But in summary, it should be easy enough if your handy with tools and have a decent eye for lines etc.

Hi I got the "G" style skirts fitted...

Bought them from Toyoshop.nl, because thats Rogues dealer for the netherlands. The fit of them was really crappy!

It looked like the complete rear end of the skirt was turned a few degrees. I had to add some extra on the back (at the wheelarche) and there was to much at the side of the door, I had to cut off.

I could send you some pics of the fitting job if you like? Just send me pm
