nah it had run flat because of the leaking valve and someone stealing the valve cap which was the temporary fix. The wall is so small on the tyre i couldn't even tell it was flat, no extra road noise, vibration or anything until it melted off the wheel of course.

yeah tell me about it, i'm ballancing on a financial shoestring as it is, got a large restock to sort out, and improvements i need to make to the turbo kits which is being delayed because of financial situations.

That's harsh man. Been out of the country 4 days so only just saw this.

Looks pretty final without a re-shell. :( Coming so soon after the cambelt incident that's really adding insult to injury.

I see there are a lot of folks on here egging you on to rebuild....all I will say is take a breather and listen to your heart (sorry if that's cheesy). My mate had his V8 Spitfire burn out after 3 years and £20k of work, he decided to rebuild and it's almost finished...but it's almost bankrupted him. :-k

Now I'm sure you can get back on the road for a lot less dosh with all the help offered, but it has to be your choice, made without worrying about 'letting people down' etc. I know what it's like to lose the passion, once it's gone it's gone.

Just be sure you know why you go with whatever choice you make.

Best of luck mate.

well i've already offered my services to mark, i think striping it and refitting the good parts to a new car would be the best bet.

I said to mark we've gotta get him back into another 2, make it bigger and better...........:)

Get some more of the xxxx logo'd cars out there, can't let all the other companies have all the fun.... hey patrick

Hey Mark,

Sorry for the late reply, I just heard about your crash.

As long as you are fine, that is all that matters.
Metal/plastic/glass can be replaced ... I've wrecked a lot worse and bounced back and I know you can too (if you want to).

Good luck with whatever you end up doing,

Only just saw this thread. If no-one has offered yet, then we can do you a free shell.

................dang! and the offers just keep pouring in! =D>

how about a compromise then Mark. Why not forget the idea of rebuilding your EXACT car and create another project. Sell 'some' stuff to help finances and keep back some item 9especially that engine) and reshell that so as to start the creation of a new beast?

This way, you stay away from diesels and you get some cash in you pocket. Doin this plus the insurance money after buy back should put you in good stead. The sale of some items should reimberse you for the buy-back cost.

What ya think?

Well, i appreciate all the support and very generous offers from everyone, but i think i've made my mind up on what i'm doing now.

After speaking to a friend about his for his opinion on them, i've decided as i really can't afford to maintain a monster anymore, i'm going to get an EP91 toyota starlet and stick the motec on it. Going to go purely for handling this time rather than power. Should be a cheaper project for me until i win the lottery and build a maniac mr2.

Just got to wait for the insurance money to come and then project starlet begins. 8)
