They break 200mph without the silly German restrictor on it!

Nothing really beats a Brabus IMO, they're pretty much made to break records. Think they hold fastest saloon, fastest hatch, fastest 4x4 among other records.

Like I say it was a while ago and the M5 was probably brand new at the time with limiter intact. Don't really pay much attention to write ups of cars costing house money but I was amazed at the Brabus that ended up beating everything.
Think it was the flag ship S class 600 with a bored and stroked motor and everything else they could think of. Can't remember the power etc but God it was expensive.
Imagine coughing up for a set of 12 forged pistons and a V12 long throw steel crank!!.

700+ bhp hmmmmm

Hardly a wonder the Lotus Carlton gets eaten up and spat out by it but as you say, very very different price tag.

i went to trax a few years ago and watched one on one corner just past the straight.it outhandled/accelerated everything that was on the track.as said impressive for an old timer.that new monaro 500 looks like the only "vauxhall" that would beat it

I want one of those bad boys ones day.

6.0 V8 with a charger. Ooohm suits you sir!!!!

I think Clarkson described the lesser one as the love child of the Lotus Carlton and the Calibra Turbo.
(Must of inherited the Lotus Carlton genes I reckon)

I worked for Lotus at the time, and had a hand in the development of the Carlton upgrade electrical system. They are genuinely great super-saloons. The project number was Type 104 if my memory serves me correctly. They were not just a turbo-and-bodykit job, they also reconfigured the rear suspension and fitted a ZF 6 speed gearbox from the ZR-1 Corvette.

Owning one would make me very happy.

They are amazingly fast in a straight line, I would love to have a drive in one. Big comfy leather seats as well. if its not a very dark green colour its not real.
THey can look black in some light.
