xs intercooler

Post by tops »

my mate has just brought a xs power intercooler and has asked me to fit it for him, there are no instructions with the kit! do you need them? also is it a direct replacement or do you need to cut things about a bit, does the a/c compressor get in the way or do you need to loose the a/c?

pretty straight forward m8.... no need to remove A/C just unbolt everything you can see will get in the way.... be prepared for a fight though, it will eventually come out, and you'll be thinking why didnt it come out like that 1hr ago

yeah, straight swap. Don't need the oem fan shroud though, it just bolts straight to the chassis. I reused the existing oem fan on mine.

Hope that helps.

fitted the xs intercooler on my mates car today not a bad bit of kit, it's a shame about the hoses they supply, not one to go on the t/b or the first one you need after the hard pipe that runs over the manifold and there a bit big, clips/clamps just took up could do with being a bit smaller, still all on and running 1.2 with no hoses blown off so carnt be that bad! advise to others is if you want intercooler upgrade maybe the berk one would be worth that little extra money to save the hassle  , i see what you mean spittinflames about a mission to get the old one out, took some serious jiggig about!

The XS IC is actually fairly decent.

i fitted a berk one to my MR2 and found that getting the old one out was the fun bit, once that was dealt with it was pretty easy going!

I really think the XS IC is a great budget upgrade, however they hose issue has existed for around a year now, and they have sitll not changed it, come on XS-Power you want people to like you but stupid things like that are just ammo!!!
