Llandow Track Day

Post by EarL »

Brilliant day, and thankfully, the weather held off for the most of it.

Here's the pics...

We knew it would all end in tears...

lol you werent there when I smashed my front lip up. After it had tipped down I went out for a slidey session, I actually managed to start linking drifts through the bus stop. Until I ballsed up, and spun collecting the splitter on a raised kerb.

Also spun again in front of Ryan and Vashy, trying to drift it on the Devils Elbow, 180 spin brought back with a well timed J turn.

Cool pictures mate, good to put a face to a name, how the Nos system etc is all ok?

Cheers

Some great pics!
Looks like you guys had as much fun as we did at Mallory (ended up going there - without my MR2, as it's closer to me so easier)! Wet, damp, then dry, then chucked with rain so very wet!
That Pug 205 with the Cosworth engine looks mental! Was it just slightly quick?

Woohoo... first piccy!

Cracking day, enjoyed the track, glad the rain held off long enough.

Sorry didn't get to meet everyone, hope Jason enjoyed the passenger ride, and sorry to hear about your splitter, James.

Anyway, got the mrs hooked, looking forward to booking our next track day next year.

Suspension mods may be required!!! :)

Cheers
p.s. excellent pics Earl.

Great to meet you guys, and thanks for the passenger rides - great fun!

Next time I'll hopefully feel confident enough to take the v6 out on track.

I did take some video footage on the end of the straight (silly me didn't think of filming the twisty bit until the very end of the day... duh! ) so I'll see if my cameraman-ship was any good and upload anything decent somewhere. ;)

Until the next one. \:D/

Hell yeah, you could leave it in 5th around the whole track ;)
(PS, we both agreed your car sounded like some supercar as you roared off up the hill :) *rubs thighs*)

yeah we had a nice view of the spin (: of course spinning is excusable when you are drifting on most of the corners (: It was a great day thanks for doing it!

It started raining just as I pulled away from the circuit. Sorry to hear about your front lip mate. You think you'll be able to get it repaired, or is it a right off?

The NOS stuff is great. Even if I just use the bottle as a conversation piece in my living room!

As soon as I get the car back I'll be after a few of your brain cells.

Glad everyone had a good day. Take it easy all,

Gotta put this one up James...

Quote after James span the first time - "Oops, ran out of talent there didn't I?" Classic mate.

Good day to watch, was gutted my car is still nowhere near ready! The pug cosworth was very disappointing, was passed by normal 1.9gti a few times. Most impressive cars were the M3, Caterham and the bike engined 205. Nice to see some MR2's on the track though.

Are there anymore dates planned for LLandow or is that it for this year?

Well done James for getting this event off the ground =D>

I'm all for getting people into trackdays, people don't know what they're missing!

We also had a lot of fun at Mallory yesterday.

Just a shame the dates coincided.

Next time we'll have to get everyone together at the same track.

Cadwell anyone?

Cadwell would be great Tom, it's definatey one of my favorite curcuits in the UK, with it's non stop up's and down's. I've raced there on both bikes and in cars. Brilliant venue. =D>

Would this be this year, or are we looking at next year now. Not sure I like the thought of a 450bhp tubby on a wet/icy track!

First off, well done James, for putting all the effort into this event to get it going. Brilliant stuff. Gutted i coulnd't make it and had to work on the pitlane at Mallory.

For next year i'm already in talks to sort out a day at the new Angersea. Should be good.

Made for sum good viewing, beat sitting in the house all morning, loving the purple mr2, and seen a nice lil spin fro mthe red one \:D/

the M3, Caterham and the white bike engined 205 where fun to watch they had some nice little runs together, where they where pushing each other,

was expecting a lot more from the cossie powered 205, and the cossie wasnt that impresive either.

definatly wanna try a track day some time next year, give me time to spend some money on brakes and suspension

top effort for the guys who traveled so far, made my morning that lil bit more eventfull

p.s tom tom sucks

Dave,

If you ever want to pop down for a track day down this neck of the woods mate, you're more than welcome to crash at mine. I only live 15 mins away from Llandow.

Nice pub at the end of my road

That obviously goes for anyone else too...

Me and him had a little tustle towards the end of the day in the wet. He had the legs on the straight but the N2 kept up with him and reeled him right in on a few bends. Not bad when you think he had 307bhp and 4wd, and I had 160bhp, RWD and a car with a propensity to go sideways.

Easily repaired, duct tape should do it

Cool, let me know when you want a hand fitting it.

Cool pictures feller, whos the muppet in the AE86? Do you have some high res versions of the AE86? Just so I can put them on my site.

Had a really good day and loved throwing the N2 about, could have tried
to drive grip but sliding it around was just too much fun. Looks like I provided some amusement. Good to meet you all and put some faces to names.

I will email the guy with the professional video camera and find out what the deal is for the footage. Think he only wanted £5 a disc. Should be cool to see some decent video footage.

Cheers

Thanks to James for organising and Stuart (Jaspa) for the loan of his tubby due to myMk1 being FUBAR. Was a real giggle and a good insite into how the tubby handles on the track. I didn't push it that hard honest. 8-[

Wicked day out, cheers James for putting the effort in to sort this out =D> =D>

The track was a lot more fun that it looks on paper and the staff were all great. I will post the few pics I have up later this evening.

Well worth the trip and it was good to meet a few Imoc'ers.
