Performance Cars - Bradford ????

Post by gtech »

Hi People,

Has anyone had dealing with a company called "Performance Cars", based in Bradford, West Yorks ???

Just going to have a look at a red Rev 3 there and was hoping someone might be able to advise on their customer service.

Thanks

Unfortunately have neither, I THOUGHT it was performancecars.co.uk but that comes up as something else.

All I know is the postcode which is BD1 3ET

WARNING WARNING!!!! If you go there and its anywhere near a dodgy looking Ford transit repair garage WALK AWAY!!!!!

I 'unfortunately' bought something from him and like I said, i could be wrong, but that postcode put into Multimap looks way too familiar.

Well went and had a look at the car, immediate impression of the areas was very DODGY, the young indian doing the selling did'nt really look at all interested, apart taking the drivers mat out to give it a flick to rid it of fag ash.

Engine purred, but body work was three different shades of red where they had blown panels in, which was a great pity as the car could of been very nice.

But we passed it by, the area was not the sort of place I would go looking for a car, and yes it was the street at the side of the auction....which set more alarm bells ringing.

Thanks to everyone who helped and offerred advice......Thats what IMOC's all about.

Cheers people

admittedly no, but I needed to keep my car on the raod and didnt know the guy from adam. After asking around on IMOC about the guy, I was given a reference froma very prominent and now, well placed, member who assured me that he's a good source , a good guy and can be trusted.

Lets just say that as soon as the motor was tuened for the first time, there was no way in hell that what I got was what I was told o that sunnt day in Bradford. He's a liar basically.

This has subsequently been proved on other occasions with other member stoo.

You could always argue that I could have got it tested yes BUT I've spend a four figure sum with IMOC members over the last four years, everytime on a trusr basis and everytime bar once , i have recieved the ittems described.

So I amend the liar comment above, he's either a liar and knowingly sell crap OR he doesn't know what he's talking about and unknowingly sells crap. Take your pick, either way i wouldnt buy anything else off him.

So it's my fault now then?

I tell you what, instead of giving me a bad name on the forum based on advice given why don't you take me to court and we'll see what happens there.

I can't be ar$ed playing silly name games on a forum, if you want to blame me for giving a glowing reference for someone who has always sold me perfect parts then lets do the job properly.

Dont think he was trying to give you a bad name mike, didnt know it was you until you replied stating it was.

:? Tut tut, and here's me thinking that this was a mature, informative and friendly forum with a reassuringly laid-back ethos. Come on guys, keep the positive chi flowing and let's cut out the crap. 8) 8-[

As pointed out Michael, if you hadnt replied, only those who were there first time or had maybe read the thread more thoroughly would have picked up on that, so well done on badding up your own name.

You advised me to "get over it" earlier? Well, yes to a degree I HAVE. thats why I can't be bothered to waste my time with a system tha tis ineffificient and would probably prove more draining than the original experience. Xxxx can have my money, I pity a guy who feel he has to rip people off, lie, lie again, rip people off etc. He's just a cery sad little man who feels it's worth losing respect, reputation andintegrity for the sake of money, and were talking hundreds here, not a sum I would consider doing it for I tell ya.

However I'm puzzled that youre on the defensive so much Michael, and even more puzzled that you cant see that after all the things he's done , BS he's sprouted, and even the sneaking back into IMOC under a fake name, then even justifying him self that YOU still feel he's agood guy. If one of my friends did all that, I would certainly question their integrity. Guess we all judge character in different ways (unfortunately).

Also, I'm surprised that you feel giving advice off the back of actual experience is a bad thing just because you know the guy. After al isnt that what you originally did and isnt that what a forum that this is for. Someone asked if they know a company , I 'thought' it might be someone who's character was above and so warned a fellow IMOCcer. Thats what we do here Michael, we also freely name and shame bad people in out cirrcles, and it's not like it's been a one-off now has it. I will continue to do so too to help the other members.

If anything is going to get you a bad name Micheal, ITS YOU, for your allegience and loyalty to people like that, not me making the comments I did. In turn it's more like people will end up questioning YOUR integrity too, which i actually think would be a bad thing as I know how much you've contributed to IMOC. And there we find the contradiction, helps IMOC, gives advice but doesnt like it when someone else does it concerning someone you like. Now who sounds like the mmore objective here? :-k

Crikey I'm shitting my pants at what could happen  Why the xxxx would I want to take you to court anyway? I'm not the one crying about getting bad advice.

Given your perceived power in the courts why didn't you take Xxxx to court over this matter?

At the end of the day I couldn't give a toss what anyone thinks of me on the basis of this, I already have enough enemies and haters to make life interesting so a few more is unlikely to have much impact.

When you originally wrote to me asking for input on the seller in question I gave you honest feedback based on the dealings I had already had with them, sadly without suitable skills I am unable to see into the future and anticipate any later 'dodgy' deals. Remember you came to me for help, I didn't chase after you in an attempt to make you buy something - I offered feedback based on my knowledge then. If the same question came up now then I'd either refuse to get involved or add a large portion of caution to the response.

My "get over it" comment was aimed at the fact that many people still feel the need to drag up old tales of woe whenever anything even vaguely Xxxx related crops up - in this case a postcode was enough to start the ball rolling, BD1 is a big place!

I have no 'allegience' or 'loyalty' to anyone, all that brings is xxxx like this, I'm my own person and I stand by my own thoughts based on my own experiences, the day I become a lapdog that just yaps out what it's master has told it to is the day I put a bullet in my head.

Do what the hell you want with this, keep posting, keep moaning on and on, respond in a way that makes you feel great about life, earn points by making me look stupid.... I simply don't care anymore.

Michael,

to tackle you points..............

1) now now ....language [-X

2)I've already explained myself concerning the legal system, if you had much experience you'd know yourself just how great that wonderment called a small claims court can be. Doesn't mean I wouldnt apply myself if someone came after me though.

3)You you couldn't give a "toss" about what people think, then this whole response occurs. Hmm :-k

4)If you hadn't thrown such a 'damaging to your own name' response about getting over it, I wouldn't have mentioned it in the first place. Maybe it just hihglights that sometimes you dont know someone as well as you think you do. So posting "FFS" when I'm ALSO basing an opinion on personal experience doesnt say much about you now does it?

5)Maybe you should have asked what I based my opinion on, rather than presuming it was just another bandwagon response. "Presumption is the downfall of many a good plan" - Ed Harris , The Rock.

6)Isn't that exactly what I did?

7)I will do what i want (within reason), I will keep posting (on various threads), don't moan, it takes more than this to make me feel great about life although i must admit you are supplying a dregree of entertainment. Oh, and you're the one making you look the way you do, not me. If you dont care , fair enough but isnt this the millionth time you said that, yet again, after someone has had a 'disagreement' with you, and not just on IMOC too!

Good day to ya,

Bobby
