Nisan Pulsar Turbo

Post by Grendel »

Just been totally left for dead after one wanted to play on M27 against my Mk1 MR2. He vanished. WTF power was he putting out I wonder? #-o
Do not know what he was running but it sounded louder than my car and you could clearly hear the turbo or Dump valve thing. Can never remember since I only got an N/A.

Pulsar

Post by Jode »

I believe they are between 220-240 bhp standard, good traction aswell from it being not to heavy with 4wd, i had a lot of time in a mates old one before he blew the bottom end playing with a SEAT sometime ago, All in all a lovely car to drive i thought , id love to have one sometime.

I've heard that they are quicker than subaru's and evo's off the line. Prolly because they are smaller/lighter.. some of them look quite nice but im still kinda unsure of the cheese grater on the bonnet :clown:

The scooby ran 4.48 to 60, but it would have gone faster if it was a rental (LOL)... didn't want to TOTALLY abuse the clutch/'box.

Also, the gearing in the Scooby is not ideal since it pulls 40mph in first and 70 in 2nd, so an STI box would see it under 4 (not by much tho').

It is a well balanced package, has HUGE brakes, and runs reliably for miles and miles.

I have heard the pulsar's have sh1te brakes out the box, and are a little tinny, even when compared with scoobies.

pulsar's are great bottom end but really drop off top end.

mate had one for a year os so but got sick of the lack of reliability. That was exhaust/ind kit/raised boost to 280 FW. went like the proverbial.

3's to sixty is shocking. didnt know they were that quick. thought 6 was the official time from nissan and low 5's/high 4's might be achievable.

Any car can get from 0-60 in 3 seconds with enough grunt. But the laws of physics say that in order to reach a velicity of 60 mph for a given weight, you need to have x amount of horsepower.

Sorry, article or no article. 260/300 bhp is not enough to get a 4wd car like the Pulsar to 60mph in 3 seconds. Even 300bhp at the wheels would only see you in mid 4's.

Lots of things come into play. None more so than the Pulsar's "brick" like aerodynamics.

...and it still looks like a taxi. :P

Rally cars make 300bhp, they are limited. They do 0-100 in under 5 secs and weigh 1 tonne.

Earl, you are not correct, sorry.

Touring cars weigh 1 tonne, they are FWD!!! and do sub-4 to 60.

Again, your information is incorrect.

A lightweight internals, 300bhp stripped out Pulsar would indeed nudge under 4 secs.

dude, they used the timing stuff like on all of the other j tuner thrash, this equipment is aparently used in F1 testing etc etc....
