Hi all
Need some boots for my bbs lms and with the new power I should be making I was looking at possibly fitting some semi slicks like r888's etc...
What are the other recommended options?
Thanks
Steve
What size wheels are you running?
Federal RSR595 are excellent, very sticky, but sizes are difficult. You can get a 215/40 R17 for the front, bang on size-wise, but the rear becomes a 255/40 R17, a little higher in profile.
Very good value for money, excellent grip, no rubbing issues on 17x8 and 17x9 ET35.
Full list of sizes here www.federaltire.com/spec/spec.php?type= ... el=595RS-R
Hope that's helpful
I'm running AD08R which work as a great dual track/road tyre. The only thing they don't like is large standing patches of water.
R888's have been replaced with a newer compound which is the R888R
AD08R is a good middle ground. The R888R is more track oriented than the AD08R. The R1R is more in line the the AD08R really. The A048R is similar to the R888R - a much more 'hardcore' tyre that is also road legal, although you wouldn't want to use them in the damp / wet / cold.
Kuhmo, V700 v70a
Used them on my mk2.. awesome tyre.. and still stood their own in the wet..
i could lap faster at cadwell in the wet that the 450hp turbo on r888s (mine was NA) (this from timed laps in the toyota sprint series)
