Link G4 - Tablet Display

Post by androo007 »

Hi Guys,

So, one of the GREAT things about the Link ECU is that you can wire it up to a Windows based tablet and have it as a touchescreen, live display of whats going on..

YOu can have IAT - (and warnings associated), the lot. GREAT!

So this will be my winter project. But i'm not that much of a geek.

The plan is that a tablet will be used in the centre console and used to replace the double din slot. I see there are a few other people getting on the Link train so wondered if anyone else wanted a tinker. You can knock screens up using the PCLink software which I'm just looking into.

I'm not even close to the stage of doing something like this, but love the concept and I'm keen to see you get on with it.

Out of curiosity, how many monitoring outputs does the Link give you?

I guess my first problem is with the power. It's usually a case of the micro USB is charge or data not both :-k

Something like this seems ideal, as you can buy the board separate, it has lots of usb ports and has a connection to a screen you can buy

Plus you wouldnt have to hack up a tablet.

Well that is VERY interesting... I could run FCedit and/or copilot in car on one of them... paired with a Bluetooth keyboard this could be quite exciting.
