if you live in London, what insurance company do you use for your mk2 NA?

Post by usergoeshere »

Hello All,

I am under 25, clean driving record, never had any points, never made an insurance claim and never had an accident but I think I have a high risk post code.

I was going to get an mk2 after earning my 3rd NCB but now the insurance prices seem to have increased so I might not be able to afford an mr2 after all :(. Aviva quoted me at under £800 for the year but now they want £1700 for the year.

Sky insurance don't insure people in cities therefore they wont insure my post code. Adrian flux quoted me £3000 for the year

From reading this and other MR2 forums these are the insurance companies I have short listed and will try later:

-Greenlight
-AON
-A-Plan
-Keith Micheals
-Houghton

Can you please suggest any other insurance companies specially for modified mr2 mk2 NA (non-import) in London? Also do any of these offer NCB protection?

Thanks.

Hi. Mate

Try RH insurance in Brentwood, good for me, but it's the modified bit that could be the issue.

Hi,
I'm a bit surprised that our premium seems so high considering you have 3 years NCD. If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to double check the quotation for you.
Regards,
Dan.

Depending on your mileage needs, try consider putting up as a classic. I have mine with Footman James at the mo.

Used to have it with Herts Insurance Company. But watch out for them bolting on extra add-ons (and charge you extra) that you don't even ask for.

^ this normally only works if you have it as a second car.
