ARC induction box fitting issues

Post by kirk »

Hey guys, to anyone who has an ARC box fitted to the car, I'm after some help. Went to fit mine this morning and it just doesn't seem to want to fit. I can't work out where the bottom bracket is suppose to fix to for starters.

Does it fit here?

Image

Is the top one suppose to fit here? Should the bracket be at 90 degrees rather than slightly bent?

Image

It just seems to me as there are things that just don't work here. It just looks wrong.

Any help would be much appreciated. Pictures would be even better!

Thanks

Few pics in there should show the angle it sits at.

You are missing the metal plate that the standard airbox mounts too. It also holds the torque reaction bar thing with the balljoint on the end.

That bit is in one of the pictures.

Number 17851 in this diagram is what you need. Covers the gearbox mount and the torque bar bolts to it.

Kirk chap please could you tell me the diameter of the pipe that goes into the air box? I want to order the silicone coupler that's in you pic but don't know the size I need. Cheers

Pretty sure I measured it initially at 70mm but that was weeks ago. As it's currently raining heavily at the minute I can't get out and check but I'm sure it's around that.

The pipe coming off the airbox is 80mm, at least it is on my ARC. I measured it this afternoon :thumleft:

Turbo inlet is 70mm for ct26 and ct20

Taking this slightly off topic. Does anyone run the recirc pipe back into the intake? Strangely, since I did this, the car tends to "fart" in the intake when the Bov opens. Sometimes does it, sometimes doesn't. It very odd and annoying sometimes.

Hello, slightly off topic....

I have the same ARC airbox setup in my MR2, did anyone get some strange sound like around 3000rpm?

I have noticed that it is more frequent during the rain.....

Usually while I was driving slow,
seems like it has never happened during full throttle.
