(This thread will be more interesting when I can post photos.)
I've owned five MR2s over the past 10+ years:
1986 aw11 (red/sunroof)
1985 aw11 (red/sunroof)
1987 aw11 (silver/t-top)
1986 aw11 (red/sunroof)
1992 sw20 (white/t-top/non-turbo)
I still own the first one and the last one, plus a 1987 ae82 Corolla FX16 GT-S. Even though the 16v 4AGE is a bit gutless by today's standards, I really enjoy the personality of the engine and the simplicity of working on it. Most of the work I've done has been on the first MR2 I purchased:
4AGE stock, 195k miles
TRD engine mounts: front and rear
Koni adjustable struts
TRD suspension bushings
ST sway bars: front and rear
OEM front strut bar for sunroof cars
15x7 +35 Motegi Traklite wheels
Quaife AW11 quick ratio steering rack
PowerSlot rotors
Porterfield pads
87+ brake calipers and mounting brackets
Braided steel brake lines
87+ black headliner, etc. (replaced the gray)
TRD short shifter
Snap-Off street quick release steering wheel kit
89 LED wing
87+ front lip
---
I re-joined this site mainly to find another Snap Off boss kit that seems to be more popular overseas. Back in 2006 I posted looking for a OEM steering wheel, front turn signals and rear tail lights - which are all different from the stuff we got in the US. I bought them and still have them in my garage. Parts for MR2s seem to be a little harder to find, but it's good to know there's an international community out there.

Re: MK1a Owner (US)
Thanks
I've got plans to refresh the engine in my mk1a, so I'm searching everywhere for ideas. Currently I've got a TRD header, 256 HKS cams, adjustable cam gears and a C56 transmission in waiting.

Re: MK1a Owner (US)
Finished listing most of the modifications to my 86 MR2, check my garage on the site. I can probably find pictures or take better ones if anyone wants to see more. Photography used to be a hobby of mine, I have a lot of MR2 photos on flickr under the same user name.
