[Mk2] [Turbo] error code 52- knock sensor

Hi all, just wondering if anyone can shed any light on this subject. I got error code 52 from the ecu the other day, and was wondering does this mean I am getting knock in the engine or is the knock sensor damaged? As I thought if you were getting knock the ecu adjusts timing/adds fuel to counteract this. I am only running just above stock boost, and have the usual bolt on mods. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Steve.

I've just gone through this with mine and the problem was a blown knock sensor, a new sensor fixed the problem.

Try resetting the ECU and then rev the car at standstill above 3Krpm, if it brings up the error code then it's most likely a duff sensor.

I got my replacement sensor from Trevor at http://www.tcbparts.co.uk/ for a good price.
