[Mk2] [Turbo] fuel filter

Post by macca84 »

Hi all, does anyone know how to change the fuel filter on a rev3? Do you have to empty the fuel tank or can you just clamp the fuel lines? I have only a basic knowledge mechanics but wanted to try and see if I could do this myself. Cheers in advance

Easy job, Jack the nsr rear up and put it on an axle stand. Loosen then lightly nip back up both banjo bolts, loosen and remove the bracket holding the filter, grab a plastic takeaway tray undo the top banjo bolt first drain that pipe in to plastic tray, then undo bottom banjo bolt and drain filter into tray , replace filter and refit

Oh ok cheers sounds easy enough. So the fuel won't keep spewing out the pipes?

No the majority of the fuel tank is lower than the fuel filter , you'll lose a small amount but aslong as you have the new filter to hand when you remove the bottom banjo bolt it will be minimal
