Haha :)

Rev 2 Mr2
Yea I've got no codes and no light. (But light is working)

De cat
HKS FCD
New MBC (to eliminate this as the problem)
New fuel filter, plugs, oil, oil filter, dizzy, rotar arm,
Dump valve
I replace the turbo only a few weeks ago (problem was there before)
Head gasket was replaced last year
Boost gauge

All was running fine until I overtook up hill and it seemed to have a little bit less power. The next day this problem occurred and has since.

It's only when I try and get full 1.0 bar boost, it gets to 0.7-0.8 ok then sounds like it starts misfiring and starts holding back with strong smell of fuel wafting past afterwards.....I've can't see any cracked vacuum hoses either :(

When I took the old MBC off I could drive it perfectly fine flat out but of course it was only set to o.6 bar standard.

So I'm thinking maybe

Ignition timing
Vacuum leak (I might not be able to visually see a crack)
HT leads
Coil/ igniter?

Yea you think leads? How much do you think I'm looking at for Toyota ones? And why not after market? Are they really that bad?

Thanks

Aftermarket don't fit properly.

Had a friend that fitted aftermarket Eagle performance leads to his MR2. Had a misfire on boost over 4000rpm. I swapped in my spare set of 15 year old stock leads. Misfire gone.

Try here - http://www.tcbparts.co.uk/

They're usually pretty competitive on prices :thumleft:

Yea 120 quid compared with 160 odd from Toyota :) but still a lot. Apprantly you can test the leads? But don't know what the values should be or at what points to put the pins?

I just don't want to shell out for leads untill I'm sure.... 😟

Update

Well I got the multimeter out and the values are

HT LEAD

1 10.27
2 8.32
3 7.95
4 5.30

Anything under 25 is good apparently so it seems HT leads are out.
I have on order new vacuum hoses...we shall see :-(
