Just waiting for my 6 speed to arrive from the US now mate, i have every part ready to do this, so by the time the gearbox arrives i should have the Mk2 prepped and ready to carry out the swap.

I needed an Evora DBW throttle pedal, but they are like rocking horse xxxx, so with a bit of research and cross referencing i found a USDM Nissan Altima (don't ask) shares the same pedal, which was $30, so that is on the way too, half the fun of these projects is the research.

I also bought 4 new O2 sensors, bizzarely the Evora doesn't use widebands, which is quite shocking for a £60k plus supercar, i mean narrowbands on a modern engine like this is like putting a wooden wagon wheel on an F1 car, to make matters worse they are Freelander ones.... only upside is they're cheap, but Lotus blow my mind with the corners they cut on what is supposed to be a top end supercar.

Oh well if it works it works i suppose.

Loving this, definitely something I want.
I'll be putting an order in for an engine in the future, possibly next year once I finish my current upgrades and use the car for a bit.

I recon it'll be a great race engine with all that low down torque.

You're not wrong there Mikey, except there's torque everywhere with these engines, not just low down, there's torque everywhere on the rev range.

I will sort a thread out mate, just hang on until the build takes shape. There's still some more parts to gather and a fair bit of research to do.

More progress, i've replaced the Evora power steering pump with an idler pulley sourced from a Landrover Discovery TD5, this is all steel construction, 7 rib and the correct diameter to allow me to use a belt that fits without having AC, it's odd, but trying to find 7 rib belts in small increments above 2.7m long is really difficult, luckily doing this pulley mod allows me to hit a belt length that works.

It wasn't without issue though, i had to have a standoff post made to get the pulley spacing correct...

Image

Also noticed the TD5 pulley didn't have a retaining lip on the back edge of the pulley, i found this odd, obviously it isn't an issue on the Discovery but i had a ring made that was 0.2mm smaller ID than the pulley, heated that up, slipped it over the pulley and it has shrunk to a tight fit.

Image

The pulley now has an inner lip...

The pulley fitted...

So as soon as my gearbox arrives this is ready to fit.

Yeah it's awesome. I'm not one to make useless comments (a bit like this) that just litter a good thread up but rather watch it closely.

Not likely i'll be able to afford a build anything like this i the near future but doesn't stop me dreaming.

Nice work Paul.
