[Mk2] [NA] Lightened turbo flywheel on a NA? possible?

Post by grainge231 »

Hi guys almost clutch replacement time but haveing a few issues sourcing a lightened NA flywheel. I'm planning on using a exedy clutch. Just wondering could I use a lightened flywheel from a turbo on my NA. It's a rev3 import NA

Not unless you want to fit a turbo clutch too. Which won't fit your gearbox input shaft.

Have you tried Fensport:

Ah that's a shame found a cheap turbo lightened fly wheel for sale but a brand new one is a bit over my budget. Is there any gain from getting my standard one lightened and balanced or is it not worth the hassle? Wasn't originally going to bother but because it was a good price thought it was worth checking. Maybe I'll just stick with my standard fly wheel and use a exedy clutch kit and stick with stock flywheel.

Can anybody point me in the right direction for finding performance clutch. Everything I seem to find is for turbo. Didnt realise they're not interchangeable.

Unless your running some huge mods you don't need anything better than the stock n/a clutch or a decent brand equivalent like exedy or sachs

Ahh really that's good to know :) yeah it's mainly just for some fun in the summer. Plan to track day it as much as possible but not competitive. Just for fun. Should save me. Few penny's :)

Remembered something else, the above clutch is the one you want, they've been used on v6 swaps which produce more torque than the n/a with no issue
