Sills Another Question 28/06/15

Hi. I have read somewhere that the outer sills can be replaced with Mk3 Escort sills - or part of as the profile is similar. Is this true?

I previously had mine replaced by Saab 9000 sills. But that's just an aberration on my behalf!

So I have cut away the outer sill and the center reinforcer is rusted away at the bottom. Did this return and have a flange that was welded to the flange of the inner sill and the outer sill flange was welded onto the top - so 3 flanges together? I actually doesn't look as if it was like this but I don't know what the inner reinforcer did, or rather where it went - if you know what I mean (even I'm confused)
