[Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone Running Meister Zeta R Coilovers

Post by pilotmike17 »

Hi,

Is anyone running these coilovers? I recently installed them and then had a 4 wheel geo and alignment and the car still feels wobbly and rubbish compared to the stock set up.

Is there something i am missing in the setup of these that anyone could share advice on?

Thanks :thumleft:

Whats the ride height set to? Damper settings? What alignment settings did you go fo?

They should be noticeably stiffer than the standard set up.. whats the rest of your suspension like? Fresh bushes etc or old / original kit?

Thanks for the reply Rob,

Everything was set as stock from the JDM Manual for a Rev1, ride height and alignment etc.

All bushes have been changed to powerflex all round before the alignment was completed and everything on the suspension components has been changed for new.

The damper settings i have at the moment is 5 front and 8 rear from the softest settings. I have played with the settings all the way to firm but my problem is i seem to get way to much travel in the suspension, it feels more like my 5 series with to much roll and just isnt flat round the corners.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mike

speak to meisterR themselves.. sounds like something isn't right, it should be firm and definitely shouldn't roll around

I will do, I am surprised I can't find much from existing owners on here.

Hopefully Meister can advise and it will drive as it should

I'm running these coilovers with no problems. I fitted them, set them to the correct height and got a full geometry setup at Wheels In Motion.

I haven't had any problems at all, at the softest damper settings they give a comfortable ride comparable with a stock setup.

Did you adjust the pre-load on the springs when you fitted them? AFAIK that can have a big effect on handling.

I bought these on the group buy on the forum and iam very happy with the ride. I lowered my car about 1 inch, and im running 8 clicks from soft on fronts and 10 on the rear. Car feels firm but not harsh. As above have you touched the spring preloads? Mine feels really good, i probably need a pair of clicks more on the back to compensate the soft sidewall of the rainsports3, although miles better that the stock suspension i took out with 77k miles on it. Tires are 205 50 16 and 225 50 16 (yes i know they are bigger than should be).

The roll should be taken out with the roll bars not the coil overs, they should make it a nice ride over the bumps and not be too hard.
