Rev 1 Turbo - Black Beauty

Post by IMR2T »

So I had this really comfortable, reliable, solid, tidy mk3 Mondeo Zetec S TDCi. I loved it, had it 7years and would have another in a heartbeat.

But then I saw a rusting, non running, leaking MR2 Turbo and sold the Mondeo. Ive been getting the bus ALOT #-o

The fun started a month ago, heres the beast when I first went to see her...

They look like Work Equip wheels, if they are they'll have Equip written on the centre caps; very good quality Japanese made wheels, definitely worth refurbishing.

There are pics here of a set that have recently been refurbished http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... c&start=40

Nice, I do like them, just not in their current condition, lol.

The centre caps say -

Development Number
OW-33
MORE
Profession Project

What are these wheels worth?

Later Rev 3 rear lights/centre panel too. Aftermarket front strut brace, are they NGK or magnecor ignition leads too?. Looks like somebody had spent a few quid on it at some point with mods. GT badge on rear. Do you have wing mirror retract button? GT spec Turbo?

What does the switch next to the fag lighter do out of curiosity? Hope you can tidy it up and bring it back to life.

Certainly got potential for a decent project. Good decision selling the exhaust and scoops.

Wheels are Work Equip, and defo worth keeping/restoring!

Tuned in, best of luck bringing her back to her former glory.

Yeah mate, the owner ten years ago spent thousands on mods and maintenance but the last couple of owners just hammered it.

Itll take me a year or so but itll be tip top :thumleft:

Do you have any idea what the wheels would be worth?

The original Tom's scoop only ever had a passenger side, but at least if you're keeping one it's the correct one. The original Tom's scoop, was designed with a sealed induction system.

This was done to prevent the upset of opposing air flow on the car.

Could do with specs on the wheels - Offsets/Widths etc

Gotta be worth £300+

Looks like you have a 225/40/16 on the front!

Ideal sizes for 16s should be 205/45/16 front, 225/45/16 rear.

Yeah, looking at getting a metal sheet folder and designing a sealed induction route.

No idea on wheel specs, yeah the rears had the slimmer 205 wheels but swapped that all around.

Thats a decent price. Will keep them for now.

Need to find out why the fecker wont start first :?:

I'd check the condition of the battery first, then move onto ignition components.

Looks like a nice little project to keep you going, will be interesting to see the progress.

wheels are not WORK equip 05's though, they are very similar - if refurbed with polished lips and bolts they should be worth £600ish depending on width/offsets

Ok, so they're made by Work's but just a different model no. Once cars running I'll be looking to polish them up, cheers mate :thumleft:

Not made by WORK either im afraid.. the brand is 'More' or 'OW33 More' unsure of the model name/number though, they're super rare, rarer than the equip 05's they look like but rarity doesnt always = value

still, pretty cool wheels that'd look awesome with a bit (lot) of polishing
