Isn't spring rate mainly to do with body roll and it's the damper valving that changed stiffness?

Be good to know if so the BC's are just too stiff as a dampener as tried it on the lowest dampening settings.

I'm slightly different because of it being the kitcar and bit lighter at the front.

My car is a replica
/ kit car based on the mk2 MR2 turbo running gear, I have Tein coilovers and run between 145
- 170lbft fronts and 280lbs ft rears.

Thats the whole reason racers would want to go for coilovers
(if regs allow), then they can change the spring rates to suit each circuit/conditions.

.so deffo no reason you can't do it on road.

Don't even think a set of springs are that pricey for coilovers either, from motorsport outlets.

Guess you'd wanna know your current rates are to start with, then maybe have a chat with some suspension experts
(race team engineer
- maybe find one via twitter), possibly a spring manufacturer.

Thanks, I'd worked out a good compromise would be about 200lbft front end for me and was going to leave the rear at the moment as the front skips so much it's hard to feel if the rear is suffering as weights are similar to standard mr2 at the rear.

Acf- you're right, spring prices aren't too bad

My TEIN originally came with 220lb fronts or 5kgm
rears were 440 odd lb or 8kgm and way to hard.

You can try the 220's if you want.
