It has come the time with regret to sell beloved mr2 turbo .
I have owned this car for 8 years and spent a lot of love and attention on her and spared no expense, please visit my garage for more pics
The car has gone through a lot of transitions during that time the final build took place in mid 2010 when I went for a total engine new engine build due to previous engine having failed crank bearings
I decided on the 2.2 camry block build and sourced all the parts required and at the same time had turbo and waste gate refurbished by turbo dynamics.
Specs are as follows :
Camry 2.2 block acid dipped and 3s crank with new arps
Acl race bearings
Hks conrods
Hks pulleys
Hks 280 and 286 cams
JE 87.25 pistons forged
New oil pump , water pump head gasket, thermostat, timing belt .
All the valves were replaced
New oil squirters
Aftermarket exhaust manifold
3 bar map sensor
Denso 850 cc injectors and walbro fuel pump
Hks 3074 turbo turbo rebuilt same time as new engine and hks 50mm wastegate new diaphragm fitted with screamer pipe
Jetex marge air filter
front and rear polybushed mount
The full build was done buy a second to none builder well known throughout mr2 scene with a very good reputation I have a full cd of pics of complete build
The gearbox was totally refurbished at the same time and 1.5 diff installed.
Kakimato s/s single exit 3.5 straight through exhaust
I have used a radtech charge cooler system which has 2 x bosch pumps installed
The clutch is an OS gilken twin plate clutch with braided slave hose
Crw drive shafts for extra strength for the power new slave cylinder fitted
The ecu is an apexi fc with commander and boost controller is also apexi. its mapped to 1.5 bar but runs at 1.1 as daily driver.
The suspension is Ohlins adjustable dampers and has white line arbs front and rears and adjustable pillowball drop links all round .the front ohlins were refurbished 3 months ago so like new at a cost of £400
Braided brake lines and front carbotech front pads and grooved discs frt & rear
Oil temp oil pressure and water temp gauges all installed.
The car was mapped by Ryan at 2 bar tuning on a hub dyno. It was mapped to 1.5 bar and produced 451 hub horse power and 350 hub torque I didnt want more power than that as its still a daily driver.
The interior has red mk3 seats with suede door cards, momo steering wheel and boss . Oil water and oil pressure gauges red leather gear and handbrake covers and gear knob supplied by rhon, apexi ashtray mount for boost controller. apexi commander stainless steel dials stereo with oem rear subs
Spax front and rear strut braces
The body has race design kit bumper ,side skirts and spats
Wheels are enkei rp01s 16 7s on front 8s on rear with Goodyear f1s 205 on front and brand new toyo t1s 225 rear
Its is fitted with a toad alarm system and battery is new 4 weeks ago.
The car has fresh mot till Aug 2015 no advisories
I had both rear sills cut out and replaced and undersealed and both rear arches were again cut out and replaced
The mileage is 84000 km and has done 4000km since rebuild
This is an extremely fast car and not for feint hearted it will do 11 second quarter miles all day and is currently Ultimate overall street car champion in Scotland 2013 and Banzai rear wheel rwd champion FOR 2012 & 2013
I do drive this car daily and with boost controller set at 1.1 bar is very drivable.
I would hate to count the cost of this build but cant be far off 20k I dont expect to get that money back but for the pleasure ive had its worth every penny . I know I could get a lot more breaking her for parts but I cant do it after all the hours of love and attention ive put into her .
if you wanted more power out of it could be done just upgrade injectors to 1000cc and go for boot mount intercooler and reckon you could hit 600hp-650hp not a great deal of expense involved

If this car is 451 bhp, why does the pistonheads advert say 500?

451 is wheel power, crank is approx 500 as power run was on a hub dyno Ryan told me it was 500 at crank.

Would you be interested in taking my mr2 plus cash ? It is going to cost me around £700-£1000 to get her mot'd , mapped and getting a few parts fitted to get her where I want her for next summer...
You could break her for good money and I could make it worth your while with £££, both get what we want in the long term, pm me if interested

Actually this would be pretty pointless as you would be as well just breaking your own car

mmmm nice idea i really dont want to break it as ive spent hours of blood sweat and tears to get it where it is ,id rather someone else enjoyed using it for pleasure.

Rev1 Tubby, Garrett GT3071R, Motec M4 EMS, 880cc delphis, Rev3 turbo port polished built head/cams/titanium retainers, shim under buckets, HD springs, etc., rear bumper mounted intercooler, and vanilla air freshener.
