Tyre Pressures

Post by Jay1b »

Hello

I've just brought an mr2 with non standard alloys. I was wondering whether anyone could advise on tyre pressures please?

Front- 205/45/r16
Rear- 205/50/r16

Thank Jay

Well tbh you should realy get a set of staggered tyres first, you should be looking for a 225/45/16 or 225/50/16 on the rear.
205/50/16 front and 225/45/16 is probably the best option if you want to keep rolling radius the same as standard iirc. 225/50/16 works and gives you a little more compliance but makes the speedo very sligtly off.

I've been using 32f 34r on the road.

+1 for staggered rims.

I'm running 205/50/16 7J Front @ 32psi, 225/45/16 8J Rear @ 34psi
Toyo T1R Proxes all round.

Thanks, so pretty much the standard pressures on most cars then. :) Keeps it simple.

If I keep it long term, I probably will do. Not sure if I'm going to keep this one or sell it and look for a 'nicer example' on a Rev 3/4/5 in a few months so I'm trying not to spend to much on it until I've decided.

Thanks
