[Mk2] [Generic] Help! Blown fog light/brake lights?? MOT tomorrow at 7am

Post by Racer7 »

Hello,

I was tinkering with my fog light switch which wasn't working after I think I put the spade connectors on the wrong way. Whatever I did it's now affected all the rear lights including the high level rear brake light.

Logic tells me I may have blown the fuse but I don't know if they're seperate from the front lights and front fog - these are all working.

I'm working in the dark with mobile phone light only and have my MOT booked first thing in the morning.

I would appreciate some urgent guidance on where to look to rectify this as there will be no time before I go to the test centre. That and the car will be dangerous to drive of course!

The fog light switch is the standard import type a bit like this:

Thanks in-advance!

Check the cabin and engine bay fuse box's. Can't tell you for sure which one if any it is but worth a look

Thanks Mikey.

Those fuses are in the driver side fuse box and it was me connecting things like a tard that blue the fuse (did it twice just to confirm! )

Sorted the brake lights but after blowing the fuse again I have established that whilst the little button comes on the fog light does not.

I suspect I will have to spend a day (in daylight!) connecting an disconnecting things. It defo worked when I got it. So somewhere between me trying to retrofit power folding mirrors I have cocked something up.

Suggestions for what I may have accidentally knocked/disconnected?
