I have recently aquired F448 RJB Red MR2
.It is in lovely condition wtih 98,000 on the clock.
When starting from cold there is a metalic rattle from the top of the engine for a maximum of 5 seconds.
The rattle goes away and the engine is then very smooth.
Oil pressure is very good and no sign of any smoke or oil loss.
There is no visible white deposits on oil filler cap or anthing obviously wrong.
If i wereto make a guess the noise seems to be near where the distributor joins to the engine.
I hope you can help if not I will take it to a toyota main dealer.
