[Mk2] [Turbo] Changing 91 gearbox to 93

Post by Toyspeed »

I have a MR2 I'm changing gearbox on.
Its a GenII 91 Turbo with 5S engine.
The 91 gearbox har a Kaaz 1,5 diff in it and CRW inner CV´s NON ABS
But on the side I have a 93 gearbox with a toyota LSD in it WITH ABS. Got the axels, hubs original CV´s and everything.

What do I need before I shift gearboxes?
I know Im not gonna be able to use the ABS, More then that IM gonna use the ABS sensors to anti spin control
Can I move my CRW CV´s to my 93 axels and make it fit?

Im gonna give it a shot at the 1/4mile. And just know I'm gonna destroy my Kaaz. Therefor I'm changing. Anything I need to know about or have to get before I do the operation.

So your 91 gearbox is an E153? Or an S54?

OK, so keep the inner driveshafts that fit the Kaaz with the Kaaz.

You can change the CV joints over if you need to.

Keep the diff side bearing outer races with the diff. And ensure you set preload correctly.
