Avance ecu

Post by Garrett »

I've asked about this before but does anyone know anything about this engine control unit, the ecu case has Avance on it, I remember seeing something a while age about the company but they are into skyline's now I think. Any Info would be much appreciated

The Avance ECUs were made in Japan by a company called Afini.

They are much the same as Blitz and TOM'S ECUs with modified fuel cut, rev limit etc.

Have you extablished what is different about it? Last one i saw was a Rev3, had rev limit of 8000+ and boost raised from 12 to 20psi!

Not for the faint hearted!

Cheers Peter
I never had the car on a dyno, it's still had a catalyst fitted, there was a egt fitted and it was very emission friendly ,I don't know how quick a standard rev2 is and I never went near8k rpm, but I drive a lot of modern high performance cars and reckon pulled like a 300hp na v6, bout the only thing I could compare it too.it was also smooth like a standard modern car just with a bit of a kick. It's going up for sale soon also.

The "avancé" is in reference to "Garage Avancé" who are responsible for the production of these as well as the map on them.

You are right in saying that they are predominately a skyline based tuner. But have built some awesome cars. They generally run a lower profile in japan to the likes of top secret, endless-r, garage defend and so on.... However, they actually built the second fastest skyline in japan (1/4mile) behind hks. This ofcourse was years a go, but still standing.

They built my old mans skyline for him a little over 2 years a go. A very very good company!

Thanks for that, it will soon be in the hands of another member, hope he gets some fun out of it, I thought it must of been from a clued up company i have seen a similar ecu sell for I think £350.
