Hello, has anyone recently renewed their car insurance?
I am currently with Chris Knott. However since raising the fee this year, I refuse to continue the insurance with them.
Anyone else found a decent insurance group?

Ended up using sky insurance this year. 24 year old, 7 years ncb, mods declared paying 400ish for 10k mixed personal use and business miles. Cant grumble with that really.
AIB was £218 fully comp not using my NCB.
However they wouldn't insure me for driving other cars and wouldn't use my NCB which needed to be used this year or I would have lost all 12years of it so ended up going with Zenith for £276 which has all the above.
So far so good, but will update my thread if I have any probs.
Flux Direct did me a stonking deal a couple of months ago - £178 on a rev3 turbo, all mods declared, 31 yr old male driver with fault claim in last 5 years, 5000 mile policy, kept on driveway in a sleepy suburb of Reading. That's below most specialists' minimum premiums.
Dorset Ins of MR2 drivers club fame became A one ins services who then recommended www.classicline.co.uk which have been good for several years, not a classic car ins policy where after two years your NCB ceases, like in emigrating for that period of time.

Flux direct for me too, £110, all mods declared, 9 years no claims, 2nd car, 3000 miles, i live in a good postcode area though
Before A-plan were always the cheapest for me...
Flux Direct with me as well but mine was on a TRD Widebody with a V6 lump and declared value with all the mods of £10k and also kept on the road in Central London.
5 yrs NCB and I'm an old git so I was pleased with £500 and full NCB protection with £250 excess.
Very efficient and helpful service, extremely professional as well.
Adrian Flux insures all 3 of my cars. As a rule i never renew on a renewal...but this year on the Pug 205 GTI and the wife's Focus they matched a better deal i found elsewhere. Kept it nice and simple.
I hope it will be the same next month when the MR2 comes up for renewal.

Why are Turbo conversions, with a few light mods, so much more expensive to insure. I'm struggling to get below £400 and I'm 47 with 2 years NCB in a good area. That's based on 4,000 miles per year and garaged.
