Bit of a bargain for such a rare car, surely? Get rid of those wheels though...

Re: TRD SW20 Spider
Depends on condition, and (for me) the bodykit spoils it. What makes it a TRD other than a couple of stickers (or were all Spyders done by TRD)?
I'd be tempted with a Spyder, but not at that price...it will sell though

Re: TRD SW20 Spider
Bodykits and wheels can be removed, condition can be improved - the rarity of the car is what's undeniable. I posted it on here in the hope an IMOCer will buy it, restore it to OEM and we can boast another very rare car in our forum!
Though I do agree, the bodykit and wheels look terrible. Also that rear fog light needs removing, and the exhausts are a bit over the top... getting Woodsport to put a V6 in it or something would add extra rarity and be awesome to listen to with the roof down. If I had £5k spare, I'd already be on my way to see it.
ETA AFAIK all genuine Spiders were made by TRD, in the same way as all genuine 2000GTs were.

I think the SW20 spyders are ugly at the best of times... but I'm impressed someone made it look worse! Sorry, someone else might love it but it's not my cup of tea
Re: TRD SW20 Spider
looks a heap.
how anyone could stand and look back at that and think those wheels or bodykit looks nice, its beyond me.

same here, they are just awful and this is probably the nastiest one i've seen, even with the roof down/off they are just terrible, they really do look like somebody has done it themselves
Re: TRD SW20 Spider
Never really made my mind up on these, they do look rather odd.
Aesthetics wise change the front bumper back to oem+fogs, remove the winglets, change the wheels (anything would be an improvement on those), change spoiler to a rev 3 or lose it completely and your sorted. Also lose all hideous interior 'bling'
With all that in mind I would not touch it for 5k even if it is rare, it looks like ass

If I had the money I'd buy that and restore it back to it's original self... but alas, I don't have the money, and I'm sure the better half wouldn't be too impressed with me

Re: TRD SW20 Spider
I agree that roof up they look a bit backstreet garage jobby, but always thought they looked nice roof down... the engine lid especially. And I completely agree that this one has been molested aesthetically, but nothing that can't be changed without too much investment.
Ah well, I hope the person that buys it has a better sense of sight, and puts it back to the way it should be.

Stock bumpers / side vents available if required
Re: TRD SW20 Spider
So really it's £5K for a Spyder bodyshell, as that is pretty much all I'd keep of that thing.

Spyders were built by TTC (Toyota Technocraft). TRD is a subsiduary company of TTC.

Obviously out numbered here, but I like it. Well apart from the wheels. Not sure what the issue is with the body kit parts, they are all parts that numerous people on here have on their cars. Always liked the spyder with roof down but never convinced with it up. But like everything, all comes down to personal choice.

Re: TRD SW20 Spider
I think taking away the rear buttress' is crazy, they are part of what makes the Mr2 so nice, the spiders look like they be better suited on water

Re: TRD SW20 Spider
As an MR2 enthusiast I also like it. Needs to be returned back to its JDM origin though!
Surely can only appreciate in value being only 1 of a handful made.

I have to agree twith this chap, wheels are rotten but plenty of people on here have these kits
Personally for me it doesnt look good with the kit but only because its silver.. If it was black or a dark colour i think it would look great
