[Mk2] [NA] s54 gearbox alternative ratois
Does anyone know of a alternative final drive ratios that can be fitted to the s54 gearbox, ideally around 4.9?

Not sure what your aim is but you can fit a longer 5th gear set but it won't affect the rest of the ratio's

I'm Building a hillclimb car and want to offset the weight of the car with super short gearing to get it pulling out of the corners better 4.9fd ratio gives me perfect first through to fourth ratios, the only thing I can find anywhere on the net is a polish guy running a final drive from a rav4
(4.9) e250 box in a gt4 all trac transmission casing, I was hoping for a similar ratio from a s series gearbox

Diff.
ratio is linked to the main shaft, so you'll need to find a Toyota running S54 box with desired diff.
ratio.

Then you'll need to obtain the crown wheel and main shaft.
Much the same as fitting the ST165 final drive to the MR2.

Then you'll need to obtain the crown wheel and main shaft.

Yeah the problem seems to be Toyotas lack of foresight that i may want to play and need 4.9 ratio in my car, I'm guessing if you haven't heard of it peter, it probably hasn't been done/not possible,
the only thing i can think of is to run the jdm 4.176 ratio and run 14'' rims, it just minimizes list 1a tyre options
