Subaru idler roller arrived today, and after building my bracket out to meet the belt with a 20mm thick pedestal which then got drilled and tapped, the idler was fitted, my belt now clears everything easily and it has given me a few more degrees of supercharger pulley wrap, in fact it's not possible to get much more wrap than this.

This just needs final dressing and painting before going on my engine, i'm also waiting for the Evora VVti oil feed pipe to arrive.

My 2gr engine and S54 gearbox are now halfway out in prep for the big Spring upgrade, 6 speed EB62 (Toyota Scion gearbox) and Evora supercharger, also on the cards is my KW variant 2 coilover upgrade, full polybush, shotblast and paint suspension arms/subframes, Aston Brembo brake upgrade and upgrade my ARBs along with a few other tweaks that last summers roadtests highlighted.

All of this needs finishing before the start of summer. :D

My 2gr is now back on the floor, S54 removed, 6 paddle friction plate removed and Helix Autosport heavy duty road plate installed, this will get rid of that awful shudder i had at low RPM.

Supercharger now fitted to the 2gr and engine harness redone to suit the charger, it looks pretty awesome (sorry no pics today)

KW coilovers and Technotoy top mounts installed too, i'll update with pics on Monday.

Are you going to japfest Paul?
I'd love to see some of these projects in person.

Sadly it won't be ready for Japfest, if i hadn't taken it all apart it would have been there, but then the upgrades wouldn't be done for JAE, so i had to do it now.

So my new 6 speed gearbox is now on its way over from the US, this one is a very low mileage unit from a Scion TC, it fits the engine but nothing after that will work, so there is a lot of work to do making mounts, figuring out the gear linkages (operation will need reversing) among other fun stuff, reverse gear lockout, speedo and clutch operation all need work, but it will give me some pretty sweet ratios, not as heavy as the EA61 6 speed i currently produce for the Mk2 which is the only reason i'm choosing it.

Anyway here it is... a 2013 transmission going into a 1988 car.

It came out of this Scion TC....

Cost £450 which i think is a bargain, mind you shipping is £250 and then import duty/Vat etc

Just discovered my new EB60 gearbox has a different spline count/diameter than the E153, it's 23 teeth instead of 21, so my Helix friction plate is not going to work, so just ordered this one from ACT which will fit and handle its power duties.

Good stuff. I guess the nice thing with a transverse setup is that the final drive is always matched to the gear ratios.

Good luck with the rest of it. :+:

Indeed, it's a pain when doing an inline swap and the rear diff throws everything out, i'm fitting an Altezza box to an RX7 later this year with a 1mz-fe V6 and hope i can leave the RX7 diff in there.

All good fun!

Decided to give the supercharger a bit of colour same shade as the car, TRD do them red also so i thought it was fitting to follow suit.

I noticed there was no way to read boost on the lower plenum, so i drilled and tapped a Camry V6 Acis port into the plenum so i can run a boost gauge.

Image

That's going to look rather good in the engine bay, plus red paint is supposedly good for 30-40bhp.

Supercharger now fitted...

She's now Evora S spec but a lot lighter and will be more powerful.

I'm going to run this on the stock ECU with an SAFC to tweak the WOT for now, if it's even needed, with an AEM standalone going on sometime this summer and quite possibly a few other nice mods, we shall see.

Supercharger colour looks a bit too post office for me but can't deny the quality of the build and the purposefulness of it :thumleft:

I wanted to use the same colour TRD use on the same charger in the Aurion...

Image

So i had the colour exactly matched to that, it's my phone that makes the colour look off, for some reason red does not capture properly.
