I'm currently looking at these:

Has anyone used these? Any other recommendations?

Ok china, taiwan and possibly korea in the case of hsd.
Meister R, BC, HSD, fortune, k-sport etc i'd love to see what they said if you asked them for an actual shock dyno report for each damper from the factory.
But I guess the car will look wikked innit, slammed to the ground with crap damping, no corner weighting and rollcentre out of wack

True,
HSD, BC and meister R(among a few others)
are
made in the same factory, in Taiwan by
"taiwan bor-chuann
(BC Racing)"

all exactly the same product, different colours, different stickers..

I do laugh when I read people slagging off one brand then buying the same brand in a different box
like
"k sports are awful, my BC's are awesome"
saying that I've had HSD's before on a different car and been happy with them, just not under the illusion they are top drawer stuff
Rob85 wrote:according to BC's own website they are dyno tested, if you choose to believe that yourself is up to you.
obviously they aren't ohlins etc but then they aren't£2k.
.
for the money they are good enough, there's plenty of serious time attack cars etc running on Taiwan spec coilovers.
I don't, however, believe that they are specifically tailored to each application. The clever adjustable bottom mount that is their main selling point
(change ride height independent of spring pre-load) also means you can have a selection of different lengths of damper body and screw a different top and bottom mount onto them and hey presto you can have them fit hundreds of different cars.
but really..
for what most people use them for which is road use and maybe the occasional track day they will be a huge improvement over tired standard stuff as long as the rest of the suspension is
"right" and they are set up properly.
