Went back to my parents today to put new tie rods on. All done.
Jump started it to get oil warm to change.
After I left it running for 20 mins, turned it off, disconnected jump leads.
Then tried to start, absolutely nothing.
Is this a battery fault? Didn't even try to crank and very, very transparent engine warning colours on dash. Interior light didn't even work!
The alternator is now brand new and the battery had 4 hours of charge 3 weeks ago where it again gave me sod all.
I'm guessing the battery has had it?

Re: Dead
Allowing a battery to fully discharge can easily completely kill it.

Re: Dead
Hey Peter I suspected that is the problem.
Iv decided not to send you back that extra rose joint n track rod ill keep them as spares.
How much do I owe you for the locking nuts and spring washers?

This is why I always disconnect my battery, My car is sorned every year and is off the road and garaged for six months of winter, I reconnect it a couple of times in the winter to run car up to temp etc and then disconnect again, I have been doing this for years and my current battery is five years old.
I never ever leave a battery connected for more than two weeks.

Yep disconnect your battery. It will last months this way. I've left my car three months and it had the power to start it no problem.
But you might need a new battery now.

Re: Dead
It's been pretty dire since August and then i moved house in December and haven't done much with it.
I did melt my jump leads back in August but that was due to me not doing the starter motor nut up properly.
It hasn't been disconnected TBH
