Does anyone know a way to stop the aerial coming all the way up?
It's a universal one, not the original.
I broke the last one when I reversed into my garage and forgot to turn the radio off first
So would rather modify the new one to not go as high if I can.

You can't, the only car I know off the top of my head that accomodates for that is the FTO.
You're just going to have to remember, your wits should be on higher alert when parking anyway

Or you could fit an s2000 Ariel

I modified my Ariel to lift about 1/3 of the way up, removed now and smoothed over so sat in the garage if you want it?

You must have a really low garage?? The genuine ariel only extends to around 5'6" - 5'8" from the ground.

I've already bought a new one now, thanks for the offer though. How did you modify it?
Any more info on fitting an S2000 one?
It's not that low, I can get an astra van with extension ladders in it. My aerial was just really high. Taller than me and I'm just under 6"
Re: Stopping aerial from coming all way up?
Assuming that your new one is similar to the original one, you'd need to strip the mast off, cut the plastic "rack" inside piece down a little, and then re-assemble it.
The motor *should* work on a load sensing. Once the rack is fully wound out, the circuit should detect load and then stop the motor from trying to extend the mast further.
Edit: On refletion, that won't work! lol. You'd also need to remove one of the telescopic sections from the mast. What I suggested would disengage the plastic rack from the winder mechanism on extension

Thanks for that, I'll bare it in mine next time I break one!
The new one I have isn't as tall as the last one though, so shouldn't be a problem
