What's everyone's plans for next year?

Post by MR2 Rich »

Just thinking what I want to do to the 2 next year? Hopefully if work goes to plan I will be getting the engine rebuilt by Peter and get it running 100 per cent. I will be going for a pretty standard spec with all Toyota parts, but probably go for forged pistons. On the rest of the car there isn't much I want to do except renew the front brakes and replace the tyres around as they are a bit of a mismatch at the moment.

So what's everyone's plans got next year with your 2's? :thumleft:

Next year I plan to just enjoy the car I think, planning to have some new parts fitted at sbits over Xmas, then mapping in spring. After that I hopefully want spring/summer to get on the highland drive and make JAE for the first time, plus make more meets nag generally get out a blast whenever I can. The car was off the road too often last year being painted and new parts fitted.

Every minor niggle sorted going into next year, which Peter at SBits is already on the case with... :thumleft: Remap then dyno, have the car running well and see that no other issues have emerged.. Then start looking into a forged build.

Just finished getting all the steering, wheels, suspension, exhaust and brakes uprated this year so all the parts are new and the V6 is hungry for long journey somewhere European.

But my first plan is going TRD Widebody which should be by the early part of next year.

So is Craig slipping in a little forged build there under the gf's radar at the same time?

Originally I would have been getting my Phoenix Power bumper fitted but it looks possible that I may have been scammed by one of our Irish MR2 forum members. I paid for it 3 months ago but it is still not showing any signs of turning up. Going to give it one more week and then recoup my money one way or another ](*,)

Anyway I have a backup plan - have just purchased an interesting pair of widearch front wings and a modified border bumper to go with so if the PP bumper doesn't show these might end up on the car instead. Just need to sort a decent matching pair of rear arch extensions to go with them.
