BOV blanking plate

Post by JordanR »

Looking for a plate to blank the BOV on my rev 1 turbo!

Does anyone know where I can get one?

I dont want to start another debate about having a BOV either :thumleft:

Cheers!

Never seen one for sale.

Probably because it'll be easy to make one.

Would it not have to be secured in? Or could I just use a rubber insert or something?

I reckon it would be easier to make a new hard pipe? At least that's what I would do

We make a plate and TIG weld them on.

He's probably aware of the better performance to be gained when fast shifting.
Plus makes a cool noise :-)

Or you could just disconnect the vac hose and block it off engine side.

Yep. Disconnect hose and block off the end that is connected to the engine.

There will only be the vac pipe on the dump valve left, which you can leave as is.

Planning to remove the bov as well for upcomming season.
I have rebuilt engine and fully rebuilt CT20.

I am just afraid that the turbo will fail very fast. Is it true or can I remove the bov and don't be afraid?

If you have a budget for a new turbo i say go for it. if you are going to cry at the roadside if it blows up, then dont do it..

I just cut the end off a broom and stuck that in the pipe. Done about 7k without issue.
