Where are my sensors

Post by ashyk36 »

Hello... I have a 1997 MR2 n/A (3G-SE). I am currently trying to find an over fueling issue in my car which has now taken me to check the oxygen and green coolant sensor.

Now I have looked and I think I have found my green coolant sensor (underneath the throttle body) but I would like to just confirm this because I have read on other posts that it is located near the coolant bottle which means the one I have found is incorrect.

Could someone please highlight the 2 areas on the picture below where I could find both the oxygen sensor and the green coolant sensor:

Thank you in advance

You're correct in your suggestion under the TB.

I know of no sensors fitted near the coolant body on any MR2.

O2 sensor in in the exhaust above the subframe.

Can't help with the coolant sensor but your o2 sensor will be in the exhaust so follow it down from the manifold until you find either a 1 wire or 4 wire sensor that goes into the exhaust

Great, thank you very much....

Just on a side note, its all a bit tight around where the green coolant sensor is. Do you any tips on how to remove the sensor?

I'm looking for a new sensor, but they say that will fit 3SGTE engine. Will they work with my engine as well?

Thanks
