Rear Diffusers

Post by Retro_Boy_G »

Does anyone know of any rear diffusers that fit the MR2 (even with some slight mods) that are readily available to buy in the UK?

I want something silly for the back! I've thought about an RX7 diffuser, It's just a bit pricy to buy one without knowing if it would even almost fit.

Something like below is what I'm looking for.

There's this one which has been advertised for a while and is bonded to a Toms style rear bumper

Thanks for that dude, It needs to be detached though, I want it to actually hang from the back bumper.

I agree, I really like it.

If I wasn't keeping my body style as standard I would definitely have already bought it, sprayed it and fitted it!! It doesn't look stuck on or cheap like a lot of them.

Go on Retro_Boy_G buy it!!! You know you want to

Excellent, I look forward to seeing it! Get some more pictures up if you can. Is it specifically built for an MR2 or is it a universal one?

its a universal and its a copy of a Top Secret Rear Diffuser for a Skyline GTR but width wise its perfect and tucks nicley with the border rear spats.

I take it it's something like this then?

The one that guy has done looks a bit too fitted to the bumper for me, I'm looking to use metal rods so I can pretty much hang it off the back bumper.

More pictures would be awesome man!

Ive spoke to Owens Autobodies who fitted it to his red MR2 he made it custom as his exhaust sits higher.

I too want it the same style axs yourself where it sits lower :D

And yes the diffuser is similar to the one you posted up :thumleft:

They are quite a snug fit, it requires a little trimming around where the wheels are as otherwise it wouldn't fit. Also something to consider is that to have a diffuser like this, you need to think about how your exhaust fits. The one in the picture was custom made as it had to be slim (no silencers) in order to fit behind the diffuser.

If you want to know more about it, just PM the body shop. He's a good friend of mine and he's more than helpful.

Isnt it kinda pointless to have a diffuser without a completely flat underbody? Or am I missing something?
