[Mk2] [NA] timing belt replacement help please

Post by Adam »

I'm in the process of replacing the timing belt and waterpump on my rev2 n/a and struggling to get the crank pulley off as theres not enough space between the engine and chassis. I've taken the driver's side mount off but the engine is still too high, getting the bolt out is not a problem as I've already slackened it off

Thanks

Now you need to get a puller in there if the pulley is tight

I've had the puller on it and its butted up to the chassis now, it looks like I need to drop the engine another inch or so to remove it

Thanks for the help

Managed it by just dropping it off the front mount there was easily enough clearance
