Clutch problem. Mk2 gt

Hi just been to pick my car up after having a new clutch fitted and the pedal was really heavy and after pressing it a few times something popped and pedal went to floor. What could this be?

Also it's idling really bad, so tuck plugs out to find there covered in oil.
Again what could this be?

Just the tips of plugs or whole plug?

You've said the clutch was changed. Rule out the slave cylinder , look under car for something not reassembled correctly.

Number 3 and 2 was soaked in oil pretty bad.

People I'v asked says sounds like slave cylinder.

I bet the garage didn't bolt the slave cylinder up correctly. I've heard of several garages that have left the bolts out on the top of the mount (because their to lazy to push the piston in)

The result being a stiff pedal followed by no pressure at all, is there any fluid on the floor? How's the fluid levels?

In regards the oil, maybe time for a compression test to rule out anything major

Just re read that bud, oil sounds like the centre cam cover gasket leaking, wipe the plugs clean and keep an eye on them, quite common that gasket passes

Yes there was oil coming out, looked like slave cylinder pipes.
