Alright chaps, my project from 2004 finally almost (!) finished and hopefully will be going for an MOT in the next few days!

Spec in my signature, but in summary a 5gze block with HKS stroker crank and OS pistons, levin block and smallport head, TRD OS valves, HKS cams and HG. Block bored out and with stroker think it's about 1.7.
HKS supercharger pulley and HKS T3 turbo and partial HKS twincharger kit.

1.6 bar of boost
301bhp at the wheels
251 lb/ft

At that point the breathing got a little restrictive. So there's room for more. C16 would also probably generate about 50bhp more I'm told! However I am stopping for now as I'd like to drive the car at some point, LOL.

Hey up Paul, do you have an idea of what transmission losses an E51 has? Engine must be making 40 or so over the 'at wheel' figures possibly?

If I knew then what I knew now I'd have never started it, LOL!

A loss of at least 50bhp I would say.

Remember when we put all our SC's on the rollers, Toni (back in the dark ages) and there was about a 60bhp transmission loss.

That's what I was thinking, so engine is doing quite well at 350bhp ish at 1.6 bar really. Pleased with it, particularly as it is capable of more....

Yep i'd agree with around 50bhp loss, that's pretty impressive, do you have any dyno sheets yet? I'd love to see how the torque curve compares to a 2gr setup, i bet there isn't much in it.

Pink we were experimenting when to bring in the sc...the answer is straight away! Gives 180lbft from the off then!

The pink line is a 'before' we adapted the bypass of the SC, but also in the blue run the SC was bought in a lot earlier.

Very nice, you aren't that far off 2gr levels of torque there, i have 200lbs.ft from the off and max out at 290lbs.ft

Since I'm half the literage of a 2GR I'd say that was impressive.

On C16 or with improved breathing it could probably do more, but I kind of feel that's enough for now!
