Anyone had any experience with this HID kit from MR2 Ben?

Not often you'll hear me say this but you can pick up cheap, decent quality kits on Ebay now for around £30.

Whichever kit you get, I'd make sure it either comes with a relay harness or buy a separate relay harness (also available cheap on Ebay). These connect the HID ballasts directly to the battery and avoids low voltage problems that can cause the HID bulbs to flicker or not fire up at all.

Personally I'd fit a good quality set of xenon bulbs instead eg. Philips X treme Vision or Osram Nightbreakers.

Constructions & Use forbids the use of HID bulbs in headlamps without a projector lens. Reason being the bulbs discharge so much light they need a lens to control and focus the light.

Result in a conventional headlight is blinding oncoming drivers - can see the result any night usually in Corsas and Saxos.

Hopedully it won't be long before they're an MOT failure.

Nightbreakers make an amazing difference!

I have night breakers and clear lenses fitted the difference is unbelievable and it only cost me £50 for the lenses and the bulbs.

Yeah, nightbreakers are good. But they are no HIDs.

Either way, only a true wally fits HIDs into a non projector lens.
