Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
The Rogue rev6 lights give better illumination than standard and apparently (I've not done it myself) you can mod so both lights, main and dipped, are on when you select full beam.... fit the brightest bulbs you can legally and hey presto.

I think the general consensus is that the Rogue rev6 lights are the best, but they're also the most expensive, by quite a way, even second hand!
Raybrig lights, along with a good upgraded bulb is one hell of an improvement over standard though, and a fair bit cheaper. It was one of the first mods I did to my car and highly recommend it
I've owned:
1) Standard lenses with normal bulbs
2) Genuine Raybrigs with 6000k HIDs
3) Rogue rev6 headlights with Osram Nightbreakers
Of those three options, the rev6s are easily the best IMO

Please don't put HIDs in reflector headlamps
Agree entirely, HIDs in reflector headlamps = blind fest. I've been on the receiving end of it, and it's not nice.
HIDs should be in proper HID housings with projector lenses and UK legal cut off shields.
Fit a pair of crystal lenses (£35-40 from eBay) and a pair of decent headlights - Phillips xtremevision or osram nightbreaker plus. And you'll notice a big difference, and it'll only cost you about £60.
