Yeah I think I did post some pictures of them :-k
I only fitted them a week or two before the car dissapeared to Peters so there aren't many pictures of them. I am a fan of them though - definitely looks a lot better than the originals.

I took delivery of these today as I have been organizing Japfest on behalf of x5 clubs

More to come soon :thumleft:

Well my phone is playing up meaning its been difficult to post pictures up on here. It worked for a grand total of 5 minutes today though which allowed me to upload the most recent pictures to photobucket

Since my last update Peter has fitted the new fan to the new alloy radiator

And he has now fitted the radiator to the car :thumleft:

He has also removed the old fuel pump and fitted a new one (pictures will be coming of that shortly)

Today he has been sorting out the knocking coming from the front off-side suspension

More pictures to come soon :thumleft:

Here is the new vs. old comparison of the fuel pumps as Peter has now replaced it :thumleft:

Lol, all the parts going on the car are certainly lovely and clean and shiny. It will make a big difference, especially in the engine bay.

Not sure when the big unveil is yet... Hopefully soon :thumleft:

It is getting close now. I really hope that isn't the case that I test drive it on-route to Japfest! I'd at least like a couple of days to do the bits and bobs I need on it.... Plus if I drove it straight to Japfest that would mean I would have to pick it up at around 02:00!

It's due it's mot very soon so I'm looking forward to getting it back and booking it in so I can see what my checklist of to do things for this year is... Hopefully not much

No more photos yet but here is what's left to do before Japfest:

- Finish V6 rebuild
- Port and polish
- Fit V6
- Fit new LSD gearbox
- Fit new clutch and flywheel
- Fit braided clutch hose
- Fit my new trackrod ends and ball joints
- Source and fit aftermarket air intake
- Clean mr2 engine bay
- Wire engine lid fans
- Finish polybushing the entire car
- Alter speedo so it works with the new gearbox
- Reset odometer to 0
- Ensure there is a de-limiter if needed
- Fit original JDM flare & holder
- Wire internal clock in
- Sort out nasty knocking on the front of the car (Peters had a look at this and can't hear it currently so this may be found on the engine test drive)
- x4 wheel alignment
- Order and fit custom exhaust and custom exhaust pipework

Should be a week full of photos :thumleft:

In the mean time I am still comparing various different sound deadening materials and working out an action plan for what to deaden and what to leave alone. I don't intend to buy any until I get the car back - the amount of choice of materials out there is huge!!

The car has a new engine, box, suspension, braking system, interior, bushes, paint, windscreen, electrics, etc... In fact other than the chasis pretty much everything has been replaced with new parts.

I thought it appropriate to therefore have the odometer reset. Its just something I want done as I think it will be a nice touch to mark the full overhaul of EOR.

Its not illegal if that's what you were wondering.

That is what I was wondering.

How is this not illegal in the same way that replacing your tyres and then reseting your odometer would be illegal?

I'm not being facetious, I'm being inquisitive + given that you're a polismun that's interested in cars, I'm sure you probably have some factual basis!

Is it just illegal if you try to sell the car without telling the next buyer that you fiddled with the mileage? Interesting one. I changed my Odo from KM to Miles and have a printed document to show the work and readings before and after, but then again I`ll never sell the car so it wont ever matter to anyone except to me, but the mileage is corrrect i didnt zero it. I think at the end of the day the chassis has done the miles you just swapped an engine in like changing wheels or rad or anything else so it should keep rolling up from where it was. Plus what mileage has the replacement engine got on it? Overhauled yes but it still isnt brand new zero miles.

Resetting you mileage is not illegal, this is a common misconception. You could set it to 0 right the way up to 999,999 if you wanted.

The only thing that is illegal is resetting your odometer, "accidently" losing all paperwork and history to the car, and then trying to pass it off as a lower mileage vehicle when you sell it. That is fraud by false representation :thumleft:

Think about car restorations where they only buy a chassis. There is no way of knowing the mileage so a new odo goes in. So long as the buyer is made aware of that it is not fraud. If it was illegal there would never be any form of major car restoration from old rare shells.

Even if I sell my vehicle it's not fraud so long as I make the buyer aware that the mileage has changed. I am meticulous with my paperwork and have full service history so any buyer would know exactly what they are getting.

As I never intend to sell my car that won't be an issue anyway

That`s what I thought. Personally I`d roll the mileage on from where it was and (as I`m sure you have) keep record of what both the chassis and engine would `really` be, but it`s your car you want zero you get zero.lol. :D Whatever anyway, if you dont sell it it wont matter and if you do you have the paperwork. :thumleft: Hows it coming along anyway any weekend progress? Or do we have to wait until next week for the big updates?

I've replaced most parts on this car with brand new ones now and all at roughly the same time (possibly give or take 50 miles usage between replacements). So part of the reason behind resetting the odo is so that its easy for me to see exactly how many miles my new parts have on them, and allows me to set up an action plan for when to replace certain bits to keep on top of everything

It's definitely not being sold though

There's no progress to report since the fuel pump was replaced mid last week. I am expecting a flurry of activity this week, so there should be a large series of pictures inbound soon. As soon as I get pictures I post them up :thumleft:

My Odometer still reads 138k... and I have 4 or 5 old MOTs stating the same! Busted Speedo Gear.

Tokamak has decided she doesn't want to age any longer! 8)

Yes Sir, I know exactly how fast I was going as I use a Road Angel, that's why I was going slow enough that you don't need to give me a ticket!
