It's been a while...

For those of you who are familiar with the meeting in Duderstadt, the meeting will be mostly the same as you know it, except for the fact that this year there is no organized campingsite (yet !). You will have to make camping or hotel-arrangments yourself. If one of the Germans picks up this part, we will inform you asap.

For those of you who are not familiar with Duderstadt, this is how it goes:
- We will be meeting in the historic centre of Duderstadt at around 10 in the morning, where you have the chance to look at all attending MR2's, or, as we Dutch do, eat icecream and look at the waitresses.
- at around two or three we will have a tour around Duderstadt and the Harz-region.

This is a meeting that has been organized by the Germans for 10 years (and Erik and I have attended 9 of them). Sadly, the organizers have chosen to stop after these ten years. So, we (Dutch MR2 Club "The Wild Bunch") have decided to keep this tradition alive and pick up some of the organisation ourselves.

We would love to see all of you out there.

I don't think Erik's link to Facebook works, but I can't post the correct one myself (not enough posts).

But if you do a search on "Duderstadt 2013" I'm pretty sure you will find it.

Hi Peter, Erik. :)

Here's the link for you:

http://www.facebook.com/events/151156288383633/?fref=ts

We are trying to work out what to do. In some respects it'd be great not to have to drive across Europe with tons of camping gear, though the whole drinking around the campfire certainly has some appeal.

For us lot from the UK it needs to be a longer trip, at least three nights really as it's a fair old drive across.

I would like to hear people's comments as to a way forward because, well, we have to do it really!

Right, we want to go to this. Am going to look at getting this booked up.

This year it looks like we will be staying in a hotel:

http://www.hrs.de/hotels/de/deutschland ... 16617.html

I had a chat with Benny on Friday night he gave me this link, so I think we should go there.

We are thinking of possibly stopping off at Cologne on the way back through. Might see if I can get something organised with TTE. Worth a try and all that.

I think the whole event is going to be smaller than in previous years and whilst there is a part of me that is gutted to have lost the campsite thing, there is another part that is glad to not have to cart a whole load of camping gear halfway across Europe.

Mark and I are looking at stopping in a hotel in Utrecht on the Thursday so we can have a day in Amsterdam. Well, old habits die hard and all that.

This is the old place. Basically we'd have to supply our own beer from what I can work out and erm, that is it!

Guys I need some commitment at least as there's no point me booking to stay on a campsite if no-one else is coming!

We've made arrangements with the campingsite where the Germans camp every year. It's called the "Rote Warte" and it's a few miles from Duderstadt.

If you're staying the whole weekend:
- 2 nights (Friday-Saturday)
- campingplace and use of showers and toilettes
- 2 x breakfast
- 2 x dinner (buffet)

€ 66 per person

If you're only staying on Saturday:
- 1 night (Saturday)
- campingplace and use of showers and toilettes
- 1 x breakfast
- 1 x dinner (buffet)

€ 33 per person

Drinks are NOT included !

Erik posted the thread up a month ago, would be useful if those who think they are coming express an interest.

It was great fun last year and I'd definitely recommend it.

Unfortunately think I am on a training course when it's on this year. :(
