This is always good for finding the best size.

Use the original wheel sizes & then input the details of the new & it will give the best choice. :thumleft:

I think on 17's you will need to be careful with clearance against the spring cup on the front. I have a 215/40/17 tyre on the front to clear the cup, that is on an NA though, not sure if its different for the turbo. For the rear I have 235/45/17 but would have probably gone for a lower profile if I were to do it again, as the profile difference front to back looked a bit funny, not so bad now its slightly lowered. What offset and width are the wheels?

sorry for the delay but have been ill, anyway the wheels have this info on them 17x7.0j ET40.

I am looking to have a staggered set up, hope that is enough info.

thanks.

You should have a wider wheel on the rear, not all the same size

With 7" wheels all round you will be wise to stagger your tyres. Maybe 205/40/17 and 225/40/17.

You'd be better off getting wider wheels on the rear.

Agreed.
You can get away with 15 x 7 all round with 50% profile tyres and putting spacers on the rear to correct the track but as you go down in tyre profile with larger diameter wheels you really should increase width and thus a 7" rear is not really sufficient.. in short any tyre of a given width requires a wider rim when you decrease the wall profile.
