are these pairs? if you can put an actual photo of them up the front and back as i dont think ive actually seen the reverse side of them. I wouldnt say they will be too hard to make though, just depends on how they are fixed.

Here’s a few pics of mine – firstly a comparison of 1a ( on the car ) and 1b ones

Image

You can clearly see how the 1a ones go all the way to the midpoint, with a separate one-piece plastic lip underneath them.

Here’s the other side of the 1a – rather rotten !

Image

A couple of ( not very good ) pics of the back of the 1a one on the car

Looking forwards from the wheelwell, middle of car to the left

Image

From middle of car towards the side, showing the join between the bottom of the wing and the valance

Image

1b ones from the front – the holes along the bottom edge are to attach the 2-piece plastic splitter ( rust hole was hidden by the splitter when on the car )

Image

Hope this helps :thumleft:

Edit. The triangular hole on the 1b mounting bracket is plugged by a plastic washer when on the car, so if making replacements it could be omitted

I reckon its possible, definitely, but is it a load bearing piece, and also the section where the blanking plug is might be an issue aswell if we want a 100% replica. From the looks that plate that is blanked looks separate to the other and possible spot welded to the other. This might have to be done with the replacement, but bonded not welded.

They look good, just a matter of testing whether they're up to the job structurally now.

...I’m considering, to use some carbon/Kevlar cloth (actually have some), to reinforce from the back, bracket parts, or even the whole back etc.

Great work on the plastics. I see they will need reinforcing and stiffening but they look good. The problem is like many others I'm sure, I need a pair of corner valences to restore my 89 mk1. Does anyone know where I can actually find or buy a pair without giving my left leg for them? Mine sound like bacofoil when i touch them.

You cant seem to buy them now, from Toyota, i was all for buying from new, but no longer stock!.

Fensport maybe, or the likes of some of the good USA Toyota parts suppliers, maybe
