Reaching out to drifting experts!

Post by biohazard »

Hey guys

After a lot of amateur sliding around I’m determined to head to a place where I can get some professional tuition on doing this properly! I want to be able to apply what I learnt to my mr2 but all the places I’ve seen use only FR cars…and no I don’t want to learn on mine! So what do you think...is drifting an FR that much different to an MR? :-k

Mr's are harder due to where the the engine sits pedulum effect, but it can be done, just lots easier in a mx5.

But had a word with skywalker on here (luke) he has a lot to do witha drift school
all depends where you are in the world :)

The technique you use to drift an Mr2 is very different to (for example) a 200sx. It's really hard.

There's a video on YouTube somewhere of a Japanese tutorial video. I'd post it up but am on my phone.

Definitely speak to Luke. His friend Jonny runs Drift Limits which is where he often disappears off to. The experience you gain there is pretty useful.

Is an MR different to an FR, yes, it's just left forgiving. The method is the same.

You'll find in the heat of the moment you'll do your natural reaction. Only that is fast enough, and only through practice can you make your natural reaction, the right one. Best do it in a safe enviroment I say!
