[Mk2] [NA] Alternate way of opening bonnet?

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can advise here.

If your bonnet latch inside the car isn't working(cable is stretched too far)is there any other way of getting the bonnet open?

yea disconnect the catch from the surround and pull it until it pops thats what i did

I see, will try when it comes to it.

What actually happened was 2 weeks ago the catch didn't close properly after having the bonnet open and the bonnet flew up and cracked my windscreen, bonnet is all dented, me and friend managed to get the bonnet back down despite it resting a few inches above it's normal location..

Just assessing still whether I'll replace the bonnet, bonnet catch, windscreen cowl and windscreen or bin it.

Just needed to know if it was actually possible to get it open should I wish to change it all.

i had this happen once very scary was doing 50mph at the time destroyed my roof aswell sadly

shouldnt be too bad a job to replace it all though

Guess I got off lightly in comparison!

Any ideas on the average price of windscreen replacement?(Not going through insurance)

i would go through insurance mate if your fully comp glass for the mr2 is very pricey
