[Mk2] [NA] Engine Mount Issue Rev3 NA

Post by Donato »

Hi all,
Just after abit of advice. I took my front mount off today to try and install some polyurethane inserts from Kirkosaurus. Any way, front mount off and the inner rubber just dropped straight off, clean off. This is what i have.

Am i right in thinking that there is a small metal inner that is missing or is it how it looks and it sheared completely?

This is a link to the installation guide;

And some more info;

Cheers

theres no metal inner, the rubber has just perrished and tore away from the bracket itself, common for it to happen on the mr2. complete new mount needed or aftermarket polyurethane inserts

Was there supposed to be a metal inner there?

Well thats cleared things up. Will it be the same story for the rear i take it? I've not even come to the rear yet or had a proper look at it. Thought i had a dodgy mount. Part number resembles something from Toyota.

the rear one dont seem to wear as bad as the front ones, but just have a gander.. if the front one was that bad, it'll have strained the rear one more....

The na front mounts come in 2 pieces so nothing has broken apart.

The rears are one piece.

I like fitting a turbo front mount to the na.

Hi Guys - I was just about to ask a similar question - did my clutch a few weeks ago and the front mount was fecked (Just like the original poster). I'm about to buy some Poly inserts - but like a turkey I forgot to measure the mount.

Which of the two Diameters do I need, Revision 5 N/A UK car?

79mm Diam
83.5mm Diam?

I'm inclined to think its probably the smaller of the two....

Many thanks!

ETA seems theres a third size, 73mm.
